Workshop: Introduction to the Economics of Health Care: Theory and Practice
WHO/EMRO and Middle East North Africa Health Policy Forum organized the first workshop in basics health economics titled “Introduction to the Economics of Health Care: Theory and Practice”.The workshop took place in Cairo during the period from 22-26 November ,2015 with the purpose of introducing participants to the fundamental theory and practice of health economics.The workshop convinced 15 participants from the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region who are mid-level decision-makers, health officials and senior technical staff from with no or little prior knowledge of health economics or economics. The course was also beneficial to public health experts, health policy planers and analysts, health services managers, and clinicians. After the course the participants will have a broad, basic understanding of the theories and policy applications of health economics.
